Based on a concrete application scenario for Cloud Computing from the field of smart metering, the lecture highlights the relevance of different legal aspects for the design of Cloud Computing systems and applications. In particular, issues of data protection ("privacy") and the law of evidence as well as the conflicts arising between them are considered, leading to some essential legal requirements for the concrete design of cloud systems. Furthermore, the talk provides an outlook to current legal developments and their expectable implications for cloud computing.
